Membership questions and answers


When and why was NAPPS organized?
The National Association of Professional Process Servers was Founded in 1982 by a group of concerned individuals. This group met in Las Vegas in October of 1982 to form a nationwide organization to fight proposed federal legislation adverse to the process serving profession.
How large is NAPPS today?
Membership has grown from that first meeting in Las Vegas to over 2,000, with members in all 50 states and the District of Columbia, seven Canadian provinces, United Kingdom, Belgium, Dominican Republic, France, Italy, Scotland, Australia, New Zealand, India, Ireland, Israel, Mexico, Philippines, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, US Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.
What are the membership requirements?
  • No felony convictions that have not been expunged or pardoned.
  • Affiliated with the process serving profession for a minimum of one year.
  • Must abide by the NAPPS Bylaws and Code of Ethics.
  • Provide a copy of a valid drivers license.
  • Pay $175.00 annual dues and $25.00 application fee.
  • Recommendations from two persons (may be clients, lawyers, employers or other process servers) who know of applicants affiliation with the process service profession.
